Die proximalen spinalen Muskelatrophien sind eine Gruppe neuromuskulärer Krankheiten mit fortschreitender Muskelschwäche als Folge einer Degeneration oder eines Verlustes der unteren Motorneurone im Rückenmark (Vorderhornzellen) und in den Kernen des Hirnstamms.
