Die Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP) ist eine schwere, invalidisierende erbliche Erkrankung des Bindegewebes und gekennzeichnet durch angeborene Fehlbildungen der großen Zehen und progressive heterotope Ossifizierung mit qualitativ normalem Knochen an charakteristischen Stellen außerhalb des Skeletts.
