Der Gamma-Aminobuttersäure-Transaminase (GABA-T)-Mangel ist ein angeborener Defekt im Abbau der GABA. Charakteristische Merkmale umfassen eine schwere epileptische Enzephalopathie im Neugeborenen- und Kleinkindalter, die sich durch Krampfanfälle, Hypotonie, Hyperreflexie und Entwicklungsverzögerung manifestiert, sowie ein beschleunigtes Wachstum.
